Multi-tasking gives you a false sense of having accomplished something. There is evidence that those people are actually worse at multitasking than most people. A study that found that self-described multitaskers performed much worse on cognitive and memory tasks that involved distraction than did people who said they preferred to focus on single tasks.
I feel that learning 3D is similar to learning Programing, it is something that is hard at first but after sometime, We get more in tuned to doing it. After a few practices, it get somewhat easier because we familiarize ourselves to doing things.
My current work style is very individualistic in nature, I try to solve things alone but at times when I cannot understand certain things, I seek my friends for help, and if it doesn’t work, I will find my lecturers and teachers, but most of the time, I can solve most of my work problems. Sometimes, I also work in a group of friends, It’s easier to ask question and answer each other. But this method of studying and doing work is prone to distractions unless every member of the group is seriously doing work.
I think the last paragraph is trying to say that we as students chose to make learning hard by getting distracted but sometimes we’d focus on the lesson and we can get things easier.
I think lecturers should not try to focus on student’s work attitude, we as students should be responsible for our own attitude towards learning. Sometimes I choose to be distracted, but I do it at my own risk. But I’ve seen teachers that go an extra mile just to help their students from sinking academically.
